Mrs. Kanta Marwah (1929-1997)

AAEA was established in 1971 under the dynamic leadership of Mrs. Kanta Marwah.
A Lecturer of Hindi in Savitri College, Ajmer, by profession, Kanta Marwah devoted her life to the betterment of the under-privileged. She firmly believed in the efficacy of education for social transformation. She started working with marginalized children and women in 1962, devising several modes of non formal education. With the proactive support of her husband, Mr. M.K. Marwah, Kanta Marwah remained the navigator of AAEA till the end.
In 1998 AAEA started an annual Kanta Marwah Memorial Lecture/Event to honour her memory. Fourteen public lectures in the area of education and development have been held since then.
